"The smallest museum in Japan"

The curator Nakagawa smiles. Nakagawa museum has only two display halls.

This museum is not so large but incredibly great. About five thousand collections including national treasure class, traditional and Chinese modern paintings are stored in this museum.

The tables used in Kokyu(old palace called Shikin-castle) , the furniture(ex. folding screen) ,the china wares used from Kan-period to modern ages, ink stone used by the Emperor of So and Chinese paintings...

Too numerous to mention -------

The bronze bell.

Its musical scale is made by difference of bell's size.

It is said that Nakagawa museum has many excellent collections. Especially it is acclaimed as the world No.1 collector of Chinese fine arts. Mr. Nakagawa was selected as "top 200 collectors in the world" by Art News (Information magazine of American art)
